The Climate & Fluid Physics Laboratory has a dedicated workshop for the in-house construction and maintenance of equipment and apparatus. This workshop does build high-quality tanks for sale; these tanks are typically for use in teaching settings, but can also be used for research. Prices start at approximately $700 for standard 1.5m gravity current tank (subject to materials costs).

The Climate & Fluid Physics Laboratory is available for use by internal ANU and external researchers. Allocation of space and time is determined in consultation with all users of the laboratory and to the extent possible. Please get in contact with us if you would like to arrange time in the laboratory.

Pricing structure for laboratory usage:
Daily cost (academic use, with technical support): $600 per day
Daily cost (commercial use): $1600 per day
Minimum charge 2 days usage (includes safety induction and laboratory orientation)
Ongoing academic work (without technical support) is not charged.
